Trust for Breakfast

Breakfast, some say, is the most important meal of the day. What you choose to put into your body after the night’s assimilation is like the first dab of paint on an empty canvas. It sets the tone of the piece and is the inspiration for the multitude of gloms, dashes,  splats and swipes to follow. And just how the body responds in less-than-desirable ways to the breakfast burrito bomb and the intravenous injection of caffeine you descended onto your gut, so too does the soul and mind wince at the authority and weight we give the self-important ‘to do’ list, the empty bank account, the relationship that has gone array…

I realized something recently that I’d like to share with you fellow artists (and we’re ALL artists); The only thing that we have to do, is wake up every morning and trust. That’s it.  Just trust. Trust that the Cosmic Coincidence Control Center (thank you Sianna!) is operating on your behalf. That living your love is what you’re really here to do and all the meddling myopic misgivings are just that.

I’ve lived on the good will of the Goddess for the past 4 years and have enjoyed every last fulfilling, gifted, difficult and inspirational moment of it.  Recognize that where you’re at, making art, making love, making community – making life on your terms – takes bravery, strength and all the power of your inner warrior.

Don’t drop your dreams for a later date that never comes. YOU and me? We get to wake up every morning and have trust for breakfast.
